We love how brightly the spotlight shines on our favorite topic nationwide in October. Health Literacy Month is both a celebration and a call to action: a time to admire the constellation of people and organizations who work so hard to make health information easier to find, understand, and act on, and a time to renew our efforts through education and cooperation.
In that spirit, we’re very excited to announce that Oregon Governor Tina Kotek has issued a proclamation to officially recognize October as Health Literacy Awareness Month in the beaver state. And why are we especially excited about this announcement? Because 2 of HLM’s team members who reside in the Portland area worked with the Governor’s office to make the proclamation happen!
There are many ways to shine a light on health literacy in October, and we’re honored to play a role.
