Senior Science Writer
Christianna Reedy
MS
As a Health Literacy & Science Writer, Christianna uses plain language principles to translate complex science into words that are simple, yet accurate. In the Clearly Communicating Clinical Trials (C3T) program, she distills the process of clinical research, their outcomes, and how they advance medicine into easily digestible summaries.
Christianna believes that writing is about storytelling – and that researchers have some of the best stories to tell. She became interested in health and science writing in high school and has been pursuing a career in that field ever since. She enjoys finding new ways to package scientific and medical discoveries so that readers are empowered.
Christianna supports HLM’s mission using her expertise in both writing and drug development. On the C3T team, she helps describe clinical research in various types of materials that anyone can read and understand. Christianna serves as a writer, editor, and scientific fact-checker.
She previously wrote and edited for several science and technology news websites, including futurism.com. There she learned how to make every story both educational and engaging. She also worked as a medical writer for a contract research organization that ran clinical trials for pharmaceutical companies. There, she was involved in writing the clinical study protocols and reports.
Christianna holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and earned a master’s degree in medicinal chemistry at the University of Kansas.
